In our magnet school, over eighty percent of our students live below the poverty line. Our students are diverse and come from many ethnic backgrounds. Despite our students' hardships, they have worked hard to make our school one of the best high schools in the state! All of our courses are accelerated college prep-courses. Our students consistently meet or exceed state testing requirements. Unfortunately, our budget has been cut again for the third year in a row. We do not have the funds to purchase new textbooks or materials for the classroom, including extra textbooks, supplies, or supplemental resources our students need to be competitive in the academic world.
