As an intervention teacher for young, struggling readers and writers, I am working to create a space for interactive small groups. In order to do that, I am hoping to add a horseshoe table to my classroom in order to work closely with these students so that they receive the support they need as they work through the difficulties of reading and writing. I am also wanting to add stools to this space in order to provide comfortable and unique seating options for my young readers. Students will be allowed to choose which seats work best for their learning.
The donations for this project will improve my student's learning environment as well as my ability to quickly and effectively support their literacy needs. By supporting students through guided reading in this way, students will easily be shown what they are capable of as readers and writers, improving their confidence and inviting them to take risks in their learning.
