So many students have a hard time grasping spatial reasoning concepts in math until they are actually able to create shapes and work with them. These tools will help my students physically put their hands on these mathematical concepts.
There is no textbook or worksheet substitute for holding a geometric shape in your hand and unfolding it, creating a shape with modeling dough and cutting cross-sections, or holding a compass that locks into place to draw and analyze circles.
The products I have chosen for my students will help them truly build a deep understanding of key concepts that they will build upon until they complete their educational journeys. Through the geometry unit, my students will use these tools to construct and analyze circles in order to solve problems, compose and decompose two- and three-dimensional shapes, and create cross-sections using the modeling dough.
