As a school psychologist, I am uniquely trained in being able to provide counseling to our students in many different ways. Personally, I love to incorporate arts and crafts in my lesson plans to bring the lessons to life, ensure learning, and to make sure my students are having fun in the process!
For some students, learning social skills and learning about emotions can be a challenge. By using art projects alongside curriculum such as Zones of Regulation, students can learn the material visually while also showing their creative sides! If you walk into my office, you will always see my students' work posted all over the walls!
Whether it's through counseling or just a stop by the office to take their space, as a school psychologist I will do my part to ensure my students feel safe, learn new skills, and learn how to manage emotions through constructive social-emotional games and activities such as Head Rush, mood flipbooks, and emotions flashcards.
