Imagine having lots to contain your creativity because you're limited to the constrains of a desk. Due to the project-based nature of our class, this happens all to regularly. Students are being held back by their desks; their desks get in the way of how my students intuitively learn.
My students naturally lean towards flexible seating. They prefer working at my desk, the tables, on the floors, or the countertop as it is easier to collaborate on our large scale projects. My students feel liberated and empowered by these choices, yet we don't have the supplies needed to make their learning comfortable. My goal is to make my student feel like they have a work space of their own, made with them in mind.
We need various types seating to keep us focused on our work, and not the hardness of the bare floor. We need a new rug so we do not have to worry on tripping over the one that's only being kept together with tape. We need a new way to keep us organized, as we get rid of our desks and replace them with communal tables.
