The students that come through my classroom deal with a lot outside of school. I want them to feel like we are their home away from home and their second family. We have weekly sessions on social emotional learning and we make sure to support each other in accomplishments and pitfalls. I know not all students enjoy school, or the effort that learning requires, but I do know they all need a place where they know they are supported, appreciated and loved; this place is our classroom.
