I recently attended a CODE.org training and I cannot wait to bring my new found knowledge back to my classroom. I was surprised to learn the statistics of how little diversity there is in people working in the computer science field. Teaching coding to kids is easy and fun and shows students that anyone can do it.
Technology is both fun and our future. I can't wait to get my students excited about it. Between the use of computers and these Dash & Dot Robots, my class will have endless hands-on activities that will engage their minds and help them throughout all subject areas. They will use creative problem solving when programming these robots to dance, move, make sounds, and even react to their voice. They will recognize steps in a sequence and put creative thought into what they do with coding.
