Reading allows students to explore the world with their imagination. Everyday the students have 30-45 minutes of independent reading time during class time. Having a storage place for their books will help the students take pride in the books they are reading. Reading holds a special place to the students in the classroom. They love books and thrive to read everyday.
Reading is the most important part of any students lives, and providing them with adequate space to store their books is extremely important. Students begin to value books more when they are presented in an organized and thoughtful way. As adults, we keep our own personal books in nice bookshelves. Students at this age, 3rd grade, become more responsible and want to have their own books they are reading in a nice area.
We currently do not have the storage space to keep their books that they are reading nice and neat. They tend to end up in their desks, and that becomes disastrous; they get torn, bent, pages missing, etc. We have tried many alternates, but there is no organized way to keep them. We are looking for something that allows the students to keep their bundle of books in one central location for any teacher, parent, anyone to come in and see what each student is reading.
