As a first-year Biology teacher, I am excited to supply and furnish my classroom. However, as a first-year teacher, I do not have the arsenal of supplies that many veteran teachers have. I do not want to let this prevent me from creating the best classroom that fosters scientific thought.
A majority of my students are immigrants and/or live in poverty - they deserve a high-quality science experience, too. I want to give ALL of my students the tools to acquire scientific knowledge, such as manipulatives, anchor charts, interactive journals, and labs.
This project will allow me to supply my classroom, prepare for success, and give me the financial freedom to use my own money for other projects and educational endeavors.
