This is a Title I school that services a very low-income area. 100% of the students in the school receive a free breakfast and lunch. This school even qualifies for a snack program called Fresh Fruits and Vegetables.
Many of these students struggle to read and write. I donate extra time many days to struggling students to ensure that my students do not end up being held back without the skills they need to go on to the third grade. I am not alone at this school as many of my colleagues do the same for these young children.
