I have 29 students in my classroom all of whom come from a high poverty area. They love getting their hands on any kinds of books I have around, and I love watching their faces light up when we read new books. They are very kind to each other, and they love helping others in any way they can. They are a very active bunch of kids making recess one of their favorite times of the day. All of my students love getting attention whenever they can, so I often find that my lunch periods are filled with many students wanting to spend more time with me. Any type of hands-on activities make them happy and seem to help enhance their learning as well.
