I am extremely fortunate to have a wonderful group of students this year who really work hard each and every day. I am also lucky to have a very supportive group of parents who have been working hard with their children at home to help prepare them academically with our first grade curriculum. My school is a Title 1 school which means that many of my students are at risk and are living at or near poverty. Currently over 80% of our students qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Although they might have a variety of different obstacles and challenges to overcome, I see the potential in all of my students and my job is to be there to help them truly SHINE.
