A majority of my students come from a lower income family, they love to play their instruments. At the beginning of the year, I informed them how much each one was worth so that they would know to really care for their instrument. They were so happy to receive such an honor of having an expensive item. My school has lots of students in the same situation of a lower income family, most of our students receive two meals a day and some even three meals a day.
Our administration and faculty are sometimes considered these students' second family because we put so much care into our planning and instruction. We have many after school programs and clubs that all students may participate in and we encourage students to be apart of them.
