I teach 650+ students Art in grade K-5th, with Inclusion and Contained ESE. A majority of our students are from low-income families, with a high number of minorities and immigrants from the Caribbean islands of Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. This includes many that fled after the hurricane season of 2017.
These children have worked hard over the last year to bring up our school grade from an "F" (the 3rd lowest in the state) to a "C+". They deserve to be rewarded with the ability to create and explore as many possibilities in Art as can be provided. With such a reward, they can improve their school and their community even further.
Goal for school year 2018/19 - B+ (an A would be over the top!)
