My students each sit at a table group with four other students. My school did not have access to individual desks, so finding places to store all their books and journals becomes a challenge. Not having a way to organize each individual student's materials and supplies takes away from learning because they are having to get up from their seats to locate exactly what they need and make sure it is theirs. With less transitional time wasted, we can increase our learning and time on task.
Your generous donation to our classroom would help our students stay organized and make the most of the time dedicated to learning. It would provide my students a space in the classroom that they can call their very own. It will give each student the opportunity to develop responsibility of organizing and keeping track of their materials. This may be something to make a teacher's life easier, but I will tell you it will make an even bigger difference in my students' lives every day in the classroom.
