As I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of students coming back to my classroom, I am nervous about their health and safety; as well as my own. School is an essential business that is underfunded, and is expected to keep students safe. Although my district is providing our staff with hand washing stations, cleaning supplies, and are following CDC guidelines, the unknowns of this virus cause our students, our parents, and our staff anxiety.
Providing UV Air Filters will provide our students and families solace while transitioning back to traditional in-class learning. These filters sanitize the air that we breathe in, and could possibly prevent the spread of the virus in conjunction with the other safety precautions our district and school-site are taking.
Even though COVID-19 is a temporary dread, the use of these devices will not be temporary for my classroom. In the future, these devices will prevent to spread of Flu viruses and other illnesses. They will also filter the air in order to aide students who struggle with seasonal allergies as well as other air pollutants.
