I teach kindergarten, therefore my students may have not seen a classroom before.
They deserve to walk into the classroom and see a warm and inviting place.
I believe a rug will comfort them by being a guideline that shows them where it is appropriate to sit. It also will allow us to come together as a class and learn many things such as letter identification, letter sounds, singing, dancing, sight words, addition, subtraction, and more!
The classroom rug will serve as a center location in the classroom where students will go first thing each day for Morning Meetings. This will allow the students to collaborate and learn more about each other in a great way.
