My students attend a urban public Montessori school in Pennsylvania. I have 23 students, 3-6 years of age. They are hands-on learners that love to create. When their hands are busy, their minds are engaged and they become active learners.
Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and resources being eliminated, ordering art materials is no longer possible. I want to help the kids to further develop skills like hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills as well as express themselves creatively by doing this Biome project, but we need a few essential materials. The materials requested will allow the children to not only demonstrate their creativity and knowledge they have gained, but also participate in basic art activities that all children should be exposed to regardless of socioeconomic class. As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding then seeing my students beam with pride as they complete projects and express the knowledge they have gained through completion.
