I am a high school computer science teacher with over 15 years of experience. I am passionate about fostering innovation and learning. Thanks to previous support, we have a 3D printer, a set of Spheros, a 'theOne' keyboard, LED light walls, and an arcade cabinet. Our 8-year-old Macs now run a lightweight Linux OS. The classroom is vibrant, with students working on various projects. Many stay after school to code, help each other, or hang out. Most of my students come from low-income backgrounds. They are highly motivated and college-bound. Our diverse classroom respects different languages and beliefs. I avoid tests, instead motivating students through their interests. My students compete and win in coding contests and earn college credits through AP scores and dual enrollment. I am proud of my supportive principal, enthusiastic students, and dynamic classroom.
