These materials will make a difference in my students learning by providing them with the necessary materials that they need to explore various aspects of theater, and give my students insight on the work that goes into the theatrical process. These materials will also allow my students to foster their creativity. The glue guns and spray paint that I requested will be used to create props and set pieces. My students will plan, design and construct the set pieces. They will use wood and the plastruct styrene sheets to build a set. They will also have the opportunity to experiment with various fabrics to create costumes. The scissors with helps them make precise cuts on fabric and other materials. The Bluetooth speakers will allow students to rehearse choreography and music. The speakers are portable and can go from classroom to performance area - expanding my classroom and students' learning beyond my classroom and onto the stage.
These materials will also allow my students to combine the arts with science, literature, and technology. This project is part of a cross curriculum learning experience that will culminate into a production that my students will be proud of because they are involve in every aspect of this creation. The students will benefit from this project by gaining hands on experience with technology, set design, and construction. This project will expand my students’ thinking and will show them that arts and science can combine to create magic. I want my students to know that anything is possible with hard work and imagination.
