I can’t wait to let my students dive into Scholastic News and TIME for Kids magazines. We will use this weekly subscriptions to support our literacy, social studies, and science standards. Students will be able to have their own copy of the text to use for independent and small group reading. I also want them to be able to annotate their thinking with sticky notes (stopping to make connections, asking questions, and stating main ideas). Students will also be able to take their personal copies home to continue learning outside of the classroom. Both magazines also have amazing digital resources for teachers and students!
We also need a set of books focusing on the Scientific Method.
