My students attend a high poverty urban high school in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the entire country. Coming primarily from East Asia, East Africa and Central America, all of my students are English Language Learners and they speak, read and write in English at varying levels of proficiency. We celebrate the many cultures and languages represented at our school and have high expectations for all of our students.
