The materials and supplies I'm requesting will enable me to create engaging and effective learning opportunities for my students as they return to the classroom after learning virtually for the previous 18 months. Our students have been home for almost two years and, like many, this is their first foray back into the normal routine. They've missed out on many of the social and community-building activities we're usually able to facilitate.
Engaging students in this type of learning activity will help them rebuild old relationships and create new ones while still focusing on essential ELA content. The digital subscription to "BreakoutEDU" will provide me with premade escape rooms to implement in the classroom right away. The boxes, locks, and other supplies are essential to creating an authentic classroom experience. Without these materials, the students will be left to work virtually, which takes away from the magic that these type of activities create.
