My students are truly amazing kids who daily come to my classroom with smiles on their faces. In spite of my students' high poverty-level, they demonstrate resiliency, motivation & a true desire to learn. Due to a strictly limited budget, I have few resources (other than teacher-made or purchased). Having small group activity areas that support flexible seating and encourage cooperative learning will, I believe, really assist my students in "filling in these gaps," because they'll be able to participate in hands-on, minds open learning activities in a comfortable environment that supports more student choice and that fosters equity, creativity, and helps students move more toward a modern learning mentality (rather than traditional desks). I believe a flexible seating classroom will provide students with a more meaningful and memorable classroom experience that lays a foundation for future success in the real world!
