My amazing 6th grade students recently wrote a multi-chapter informational book complete with a cover, table of contents, a glossary, and text features such as pictures with captions, graphs, and more. These books focused on environmental and social issues. The passion and pride the students showed in their work caused my heart to swell. Now, they want these in hard copies! They want to show them off to their classmates, their parents. However, a color printer is required to present them in all their glory. With a color printer and ink accessible to the students in my room daily, we will have the ability to print the poems, books, essays and book projects when necessary. This will lead to more gallery walks, presentations, and sharing with family and friends.
