My school is an elementary school where student success, both academic and emotional, is of the utmost importance to our entire staff. Almost all of my students come from families that have a low economic status, some come from foster homes, and some are homeless. Our school is a safe and inviting environment where kids grow on all levels. We have positive supports built into our program, and our kids respond to them.
My students are incredible and work very hard to succeed, even though academics can be difficult for them. This project is for all of the fourth graders and will give them a wonderful opportunity to learn more about animals and become morecompassionate. They come each day to find success despite their challenges and they find it. We celebrate each success no matter the size. Their individual personalities have shined through their difficulties, and their smiles have grown with each step of learning.
