Creative thinking and STEM has become a critical skill in our modern society. Modern day employers want leaders who can think outside of the box, not just repeat facts. Since there is this new need for critical thinking and STEM in our workforce, it is my duty to provide opportunities for my students to practice these skills in the classroom.
My students LOVE to work together during and share their creative ideas.
The Legos will allow my students to have STEM in the classroom, a resource that most do not have at home. These Legos will be used for STEM projects where the students will be required to work together to solve a problem, or build a specific thing. This gives the students a chance to build cooperation between a group, as well as their creative thinking. The bins will help the students organized independently as well as give the students independent access to the materials.
I have already seen in my class through science experiments how engaged my students are in the STEM field and giving them another outlet would only help them grow more!
