Our school provides robotics as an elective class for 7th and 8th grade students. My 7th grade students begin by learning to build and program with the base Lego NXT kits and gradually progress to more complex robots and programming. The 8th grade students are actually participating in First Lego League competitions. So far they have been utilizing the base Lego EV3 kits for their projects.
Having Lego expansion kits in my classroom will allow the students to build bigger and better robots capable of completing more complex programs. While all students will benefit from the new kits, the students competing in the First Lego League competitions will greatly benefit from the additional pieces in the expansion kits.
