I am a new teacher who got hired a few days before school started. I want to make a huge difference in the lives of my students, especially since they come from a low-income area with little support. My goal is to make my classroom a safe, positive environment by creating a fun, bright classroom. The only thing missing from my classroom is a bright colored rug to use during morning meeting, read-alouds, and math games. I want my students to enjoy learning by first enjoying their environment. With the other items listed in my project, such as read-alouds to engage my students, a hanging mailbox for easy organization, a chime to use as a calm attention grabber, and composition books so each child can have access to a writing notebook, my goal for a safe, positive classroom environment can come true!
