These materials will enhance the experience for Pre-K students in a high need district, giving them new opportunities to learn. Some of these experiences in my class maybe the first time student will get to try something. I would like to add more musical instruments to my existing program since my students love to dance, participate in movement activities that are teaching them important concepts such as colors, prepositional words, themes, etc to name a few. After students participate in a group movement activity, I usually set up small group table activities for students to create a work of process art, complete a STEAM activity or try a sensory activity. Sensory, art and STEM materials do add up fast but the students have a blast exploring new materials and creating. It enhances their self esteem, helps them learn how to use materials, create, dream, build and learn how to work cohesively with other classmates. The sensory bins/ kinetic sand will allow for further small group activity explorations. The drums will enhance the songs and movement piece of the class. All students love musical instruments and it helps to teach them how to share and listen at such a young age. Help my students to stay engaged and have an amazing year in Creative Play!
