Living in the capital city of Alabama, it is extremely sad to know that counties much smaller than the ones in which my students reside have the capabilities to give each student a device that will allow them to log into the worldwide web throughout their entire school day in every class. In our system, our teachers are tasked with incorporating technology in our lessons daily but that becomes extremely difficult when the focus is placed on Reading and Math and the limited Mobile Carts we have are reserved for those teachers first.
As a teacher of Chemistry, it is just as important to give my students an opportunity to utilize chromebooks in my class as well. Playing videos and utilizing the Smart Boards should not be the only way that students get to utilized technology in their Chemistry class.
My students need five chromebooks in our classroom so they can be able to do virtual labs and Google Classroom assignments as well as do research in the class on any day and not just the days we can get on the calendar to reserve a cart.
