The classic games—Boggle, Yahtzee, and Parcheesi—will be used during our literacy and math centers to help students practice spelling, vocabulary, number sense, turn-taking, and cooperation. These activities give my first graders meaningful practice while keeping them engaged, and I know they will be especially excited to rotate through the new game stations.\r\n\r\nThe incentives you helped fund, such as fruit snacks, princess rings, reusable gift bags, tissues, tape, and classroom supplies, will create a positive and motivating environment where students feel recognized for their effort. These items will support our classroom store, assessment-day treats, holiday surprises, and daily behavior celebrations. My students thrive when they have something to work toward, and these incentives will help them stay focused, encouraged, and proud of their accomplishments.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful parts of this project is the TPT gift cards, which will allow me to choose high-quality, targeted instructional resources throughout the year. I will be able to select phonics materials, math centers, differentiated reading lessons, and holiday activities that meet my students exactly where they are. This flexibility ensures that every child—including my English learners, students with special needs, and those who require extra practice—gets what they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nI know these materials will especially benefit several students who struggle with engagement or confidence. Having motivating games, meaningful rewards, and fresh instructional resources will help them feel more successful and excited to participate in learning. The prizes have also become powerful motivators during small-group instruction and independent work time. Students who used to shut down are now trying their best because they feel encouraged and excited.\r\n\r\nThese resources are now a regular part of our behavior system and our classroom centers. We started with the magnetic blocks, and the room was instantly buzzing with curiosity and creativity. Students gathered in small groups to build towers, bridges, and even tried to see who could design the tallest, most stable structure. Their laughter and teamwork filled the room, and several students proudly said, \"This is the best day!\"\r\n\r\nThe magnetic blocks were more than just fun; they gave my students the chance to practice problem-solving, collaboration, and persistence. I saw students encouraging each other and thinking critically as they experimented with different ways to connect the pieces. For some, it was their first time using this type of material, and the sense of discovery was incredible.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll begin exploring the rest of the STEM and sensory resources. I am able to run reading and writing stations and be more organized as we move into the new school year at a new school :) My students have described our new classroom \"vibe\" as \"cool, fun, calm, and positive\" which has been an excellent reminder for all of the hard work that we put into our learning communities. \r\nThe students are finally starting to work independently to take ownership of their learning as they look forward to their state testing at the end of the year, and these tools have been a great impact to accelerating their learning and growth at this age.","fullyFundedDate":1746786030328,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-start/9315512/","projectTitle":"Fresh Start","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10012639"},{"teacherId":6342648,"projectId":9403170,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been transformed thanks to the resources you provided! The Kodak photo printer has opened up new opportunities for students to see their work come to life in a tangible way. Whether it's printing photos for projects, creating visual vocabulary cards, or capturing moments of learning, students are now able to hold their ideas in their hands. Many of them are amazed at how quickly they can take something from the screen to paper, and it has helped them make stronger connections between their learning and real-world applications.\r\n\r\nThe laminating sheets have been equally exciting for students. They love seeing their hard work turned into something permanent and professional-looking. Laminated reference charts, vocabulary cards, and student-created posters are now durable resources that they can revisit again and again. The excitement on their faces when they see their work laminated shows how proud they feel of their learning.\r\n\r\nEven the simple addition of colorful pencil pouches has made a big difference. Students take ownership of their supplies and are better able to stay organized, which has helped our classroom run more smoothly. A few of my students who often struggled with losing materials have really embraced these pouches, and it has boosted both their confidence and independence. Altogether, these materials have given my students tools that not only support their academic growth but also celebrate their creativity and responsibility.","fullyFundedDate":1755204662858,"projectUrl":"project/transforming-the-classroom-organization/9403170/","projectTitle":"Transforming the Classroom: Organization, Protection, and Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Westover","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6342648_orig.jpg?crop=1075,1075,x206,y4&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1553194987237","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k-westover"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97123","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":359,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.3,"schoolId":97123,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bethune Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Bethune Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/phoenix-elementary-school-district-1/bethune-elementary-school/97123"}
