One special moment was watching students use the materials to practice early math, language, and social skills while working together. Children were taking turns, using new vocabulary, and problem-solving through play. These resources have helped make learning hands-on and meaningful for our youngest learners.\r\n\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\nThe students were thrilled! Their faces lit up with excitement, and they couldn't wait to explore. Many asked questions and immediately began discussing how they wanted to use the materials. The enthusiasm carried into our lessons and helped create a positive, engaging learning environment.\r\n\r\nWhat are the next steps for your students?\r\nNext, students will continue using these resources to strengthen foundational skills such as letter recognition, counting, fine motor development, and cooperation with peers. We are working toward more independent center choices where students can apply what they are learning through play, exploration, and guided instruction. These materials will continue to support growth, confidence, and a love of learning throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1758829780408,"projectUrl":"project/clean-renewed-and-updated-classroom/9478935/","projectTitle":"Clean, Renewed and Updated Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Figueroa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9255154_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715771297536","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9255154"},{"teacherId":8001867,"projectId":9514388,"letterContent":"Thank you again for everything you have done to support our 4th grade scholars. These interactive activities have helped us improve our fluency, comprehension, and public speaking skills while making learning fun and exciting.\r\n\r\nWith the durable headphones, we can now fully immerse ourselves in our online math and reading lessons without distractions. It has transformed the \"Read-to-Self\" and \"Partner Reading\" process that is incorporated into our daily literacy block. The area in the classroom in which the project resides was designed to simulate taking flight on a plane with the idea that they are seated in First Class. The excitement of the scholars created a domino effect of them not only having a thirst for knowledge but the ability to embrace impermanence of the nature of technology.\r\n\r\nThis Literacy Center was previously comprised of a compact disc player with paperback books to being replaced with Kindle Readers and Amazon Fire tablets. This allows our scholars to navigate OS (operating systems) to choose downloaded books (teacher selected) that are aligned with the reading curriculum. This has strengthened the level of engagement in self reads and partner reads. Moreover, it has heightened scholar confidence and desire to apply new skills with vigor.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the Frequent Flying Fluent Readers project has opened the door to a world of books. Our scholars are no longer limited to the physical books in the classroom. The audio and visual capabilities of the electronic devices make the FFFR center a popular choice during reading rotations.
