They participated in a literacy enhanced lesson with onomatopoeia and played the repeated phrase on their xylophones each time. \r\n\r\nOur old mallets were unraveling, coming apart, with the yarn falling off their sticks. The students were so excited when I unveiled that thanks to your generous donation, we had new mallets to play on. Our old ones were bent, cracked and would no longer make sound. This was partially due to the careless nature of a renovation team when handling our instruments. \r\n\r\nMy Kindergarten-2nd grade classes were so excited when they saw that we had new Boomwackers and were sure to be extra careful with them. \r\n\r\nWe proceeded to use them to accompany the song 'I Have A Little Snowman' while learning about melody. It was so helpful for students to learn about melody and then getting to make their own. It really helped drive the concept home, especially the students that learn kinesthetically. Lastly, one of my favorite things about Boomwackers is how accessible they are!
