When the new materials arrived, my students were so excited to see what was inside! They immediately started exploring the books and were so happy to see new The Bad Guys books. We started reading Charlotte's Web for our teacher read aloud, and the kids love listening to it! \r\n\r\nWe've already put the supplies to good use. I have such a creative bunch this year, so the colored paper, glue sticks, and art materials have been perfect for crafts. They would be so content cutting, gluing, and coloring all day if I would let them!\r\n\r\nHowever, I think the biggest hit of all was the flexible seating. The comfy seats have been a HUGE hit! My students love when I let them sit on the chairs during reading or independent work time. Plus, they are easy to store which is my favorite part.","fullyFundedDate":1755463522932,"projectUrl":"project/from-blank-walls-to-bright-minds-my-fir/9456382/","projectTitle":"From Blank Walls to Bright Minds: My First Year Wishlist","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bentley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10075670"},{"teacherId":9839499,"projectId":9109343,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generous support of our classroom! Because of your donation, my students now have access to new books, flexible seating, and essential materials that are already making a huge difference in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students walked in and saw the new resources, their faces lit up. Many of them immediately grabbed books off the shelf and began reading with excitement. The flexible seating has given them choice and comfort, allowing them to focus more deeply on their work. One student even said, \"It feels like our classroom is made just for us now.\"\r\n\r\nWe are currently diving into a unit where students are working in small groups to explore novels and share their ideas through discussions and projects. The new books have given every student a chance to find a story that sparks their interest, and the seating allows them to collaborate in ways that weren't possible before. Our next step is to build on this excitement by starting literature circles where students take on roles such as discussion leader, illustrator, and connector—roles that help them practice responsibility and teamwork while engaging with texts.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided materials but has created an atmosphere of joy, comfort, and possibility in our classroom. There are students who used to refuse to read who now ask if they can pick out more books! Because of you, my students now have access to resources that are making a real difference in their learning experience every single day.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the excitement in the room was contagious! The students were buzzing with curiosity and couldn't wait to dive in. One moment that really stood out was during our first project using the new resources: we kicked off a hands-on science investigation where students worked in small groups to explore weather patterns and design their own El Niño impact models. The level of engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking that took place was inspiring—and it simply wouldn't have been possible without your help.\r\n\r\nWe're continuing to build on this momentum. Next up, my students will be using the materials to launch a new inquiry project, where they'll collect data, analyze trends, and present their findings to the class. These experiences not only help them grow academically, but also build their confidence and excitement about learning.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has opened up so many possibilities for my students. From the bottom of my heart—thank you for believing in our classroom, our work, and most of all, in our kids.","fullyFundedDate":1738887283971,"projectUrl":"project/miss-h-20242025-class-wish-list/8947260/","projectTitle":"Miss H 2024/2025 Class wish list","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hinojosa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839499"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69914","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":264,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":67,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":74.8,"schoolId":69914,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mulick Park Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Mulick Park Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/grand-rapids-public-school-district/mulick-park-elementary-school/69914"}
