Your support has already had a meaningful impact on our students' learning and excitement for reading. Having regular access to high-quality nonfiction texts has strengthened students' reading comprehension while expanding their understanding of current events and scientific discoveries happening in the world around them. One student was especially thrilled to read an article about a newly discovered dinosaur with hooves, sparking rich conversations, curiosity, and further research during class.\r\n\r\nThe magazines have also helped students make real-world connections to what they are learning in school. Several students were fascinated by articles discussing retirement of the penny by the U.S. Mint, leading to thoughtful discussions about economics, history, and change over time. Academically, Time for Kids has been invaluable in helping students practice reading nonfiction by navigating important text features such as captions, labels, charts, and photographs. Your donation truly made a lasting difference for our students and our school community.\r\n\r\nAlthough the original refrigerator we requested was unavailable, this unexpected change actually allowed us to stretch your gift even further. Because of this, we were able to purchase the same size refrigerator, plus a mini refrigerator to store different food items used during breakfast and lunch. In addition, we were able to acquire a microwave, a mini ice maker, stainless steel food trays and tumblers, utensils, and additional supplies that have greatly expanded what we can offer students.\r\n\r\nThese resources have already improved the health, nutrition, and daily experiences of students in our developmental preschool program and beyond. We now have reliable cold storage and food-preparation tools that support classroom cooking projects, science activities involving food, healthy snacks, and special treats for celebrations and incentives. The refrigerator has become a shared, student-centered resource used across multiple classrooms and programs, strengthening our sense of community and collaboration.\r\n\r\nYour generosity was truly unexpected and deeply appreciated. Because of you, our students now have access to better nutrition, richer hands-on learning experiences, and moments of joy that make school a welcoming and supportive place.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for helping us create a healthier, more inclusive learning environment. Before this project, teachers often recognized when tools such as noise-reducing headphones, fidgets, or weighted supports would help a student, but those resources were not always readily available. Your support changed that.\r\n\r\nWith the lending library in place, teachers were able to quickly check out sensory tools and provide students with the support they needed in the moment. This helped students regulate their bodies, remain engaged in learning, and feel more comfortable in their classrooms. The library supported students across classrooms and grade levels, promoting inclusion and reinforcing that all learners benefit from responsive supports.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helped create calmer classrooms, empowered teachers, and ensured students felt seen and supported. Every day, students stopped to watch the fish swim, count who was hiding behind the rocks, or simply take a quiet moment to breathe. Children of all ages and abilities used the tank to self-regulate, reset, and reconnect with their curiosity and calm. Your gift helped preserve something deeply meaningful to all of us.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, keeping the water clear and safe had become a constant struggle. Our old filter system simply couldn't keep up. Thanks to you, we were able to install a new filtration system, refresh the filter media, add essential water treatments, and introduce new fish-safe decorations. These improvements made the tank far more self-sustaining and ensured that our underwater world could continue thriving without the constant stress of emergency cleaning.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students still have a peaceful, shared space where they can pause, breathe, observe, and find comfort. The materials from this project have already made a meaningful impact on my first graders' learning and daily routines.\r\n\r\nThe decodable books have been the biggest game changer during reading time. Students are so excited to pick \"just-right\" books that match the phonics skills we're working on. I'm seeing more confidence, stronger decoding, and a lot of proud smiles when they finish a book all on their own.\r\n\r\nIn math, the new manipulatives have helped students make sense of numbers in ways that feel concrete and fun. Ten frames, counters, number lines, and sorting tools come out every day. I'm noticing students explain their thinking more clearly because they can build, move, and see the math right in front of them.\r\n\r\nOne of the most popular items has been the marble run. It quickly became a favorite during STEM time. Students work together to design tracks, test ideas, and problem-solve when something doesn't work. It has encouraged teamwork and creativity, and it's one of the activities they cheer for when they see it on our schedule.\r\n\r\nWe also appreciated having bonus snacks in our room. My first graders love using them during independent work time to help themselves focus, especially during writing and math. It has been great to see students quietly grab a pair when they feel overwhelmed and settle right into their work.\r\n\r\nThe sensory weighted stuffies have also become a favorite. Students ask for them when they need a calming hug or a moment to reset, and it has really helped them feel safe and ready to learn again. It's been so sweet to see how caring and responsible they've become with them.\r\n\r\nOur new classroom rug has given us a cozy spot to meet for morning messages, read-alouds, and class discussions. It instantly made our room feel warmer and more inviting. We even used a Scholastic News article as a guide to write thank-you notes so they could share their appreciation with you in their own words.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll keep practicing how to use more of our sensory tools independently and respectfully, and we're beginning a new reading and science unit right on our rug.
