It doesn't seem like a big deal, but when students are hungry, it is a barrier to learning. We were also able to use some of the snack during our testing season. Students test for a whole month and work so hard. It was really nice to be able to give each of them snacks each day. Thanks to your help our class was able to do amazing science projects throughout the year. Some of our favorites were making stream tables for to model how dams work after watching videos on weathering, erosion and deposition and learning about how the Earth rotates and revolves to explain how the sun rises in East and sets in the West. We were also able to create some cool keychains with the Glowforge program and we made food trucks where students needed to design a logo, menu, and actually build 3D food trucks. We had a blast with all these experiments and will continue to use these subscriptions into next year to further our STEM learning. Your support has helped us get our House System off the ground and now has a great foundation which we look forward to growing in the coming years. Children learn that we can meet community goals while feeling good about the part they played as an individual.\r\nReaching outside our community and thinking about the needs of others in our city is the next step to finding our place in our larger community. \r\nChildren enjoyed thinking about the needs of older community members at the senior center and what they might enjoy in artwork and handcrafts.
